Video analysis has been a great tool when used correctly and it is has led to Paralysis by Analysis when used incorrectly.

Rob Bowser and I discuss how you can make sure you are getting the former and not the latter.

I love using video to assist my students with their game improvement needs. My issue is with all the new aps they can get on their phones or other devices. It is great that they can take video of their swing to show me, but these aps also include videos of Tour players swings. I am getting more and more students analyzing their swings in comparison to- whichever pro they like and then asking me what I think. Copying someone elses swing is another form of method teaching/learning. Everybody has a different body and different physiology. The focus needs to be on YOUR swing and YOUR body and what makes YOU a better player.
